We’re here to help
Our helpline is open seven days a week. Call us on 0800 731 8470, email us, or speak to us on Live Chat.
As we navigate older age, many of us will encounter problems, challenges and questions that we’ve never previously had to consider. Finding the right information can be difficult, whether you’re going through a stressful period or simply don’t know where to look.
My Care My Home offers a comprehensive information and advice service that takes the guesswork out of finding care. It’s free to use and anyone can get in touch, from an older person in need of guidance, to a friend or family member contacting us on their behalf.
Our helpful care advisors can answer any question you have about support for elderly people, or can point you to someone who can. While we offer our own care services, our information and advice service is completely impartial. We’ll only ever recommend options that are best suited to you.
It can often feel like there is either too much or too little information about certain aspects of care. It’s important to gain clarity, so that you are empowered to make decisions that are right for you.
Our kind-natured care advisors can support you by providing information and advice on a variety of topics, including:
• Care and capacity assessments
• Choosing the right care for you
• Financial planning
• Adapting, renting, or selling your property
• Planning for the future
Over 1 in 10 people aged 65-69 need help with one or more daily activity, rising to 1 in 3 people aged 85 and over. (ELSA)
We can speak to anybody living in England or Wales who would like information and advice for vulnerable adults. For example, you might be:
• An older person who would like to explore all of the care options available to you
• A family member seeking guidance for a loved one struggling to care for themselves
• An adult approaching old age searching for advice on how to prepare for the future
We can help to clear up any confusion you might have about care options, providing you with helpful, relevant information. Our care advisors can provide you with clear guidance about your specific situation, which often gives people a sense of relief.
“An excellent service. I had several conversations with a My Care My Home care advisor who provided me with information that I was completely unaware of. I very much appreciate the service.”
Our information and advice service is completely impartial. Whilst we offer our own care services, our advisors will only ever recommend options that are most suited to you.
We can point you to all the information that you need to make an informed decision, providing you with clarity and direction during what can be a confusing time.
“People often call us when they’re going through a time of crisis, and you can tell how stressful it has been for them to find the right information. I really enjoy being able to help the people who contact our helpline; it’s nice to know that we can make a difference by giving them guidance about their care.”
